Diamond cut alloy wheel repair & refurbishment in Ipswich
Diamond cut wheels have a machined, mirror-bright face with painted pockets — standard on most Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VW, Jaguar and Range Rover models. They look superb when new, but once the lacquer is breached they go milky and white, and a painted repair never looks right.
We refurbish diamond cut wheels the correct way: the face is re-cut on a CNC lathe to remove the damage and reveal fresh alloy, then sealed under a clear powder lacquer. The result is indistinguishable from factory.

How we do it
- 01

- 02
Strip & paint
Old lacquer removed, wheel repaired, painted sections powder coated to the OEM shade.
- 03
CNC cut
The wheel is profiled and the face machined on the lathe, taking off the minimum material.

Diamond cut alloys: your questions
How many times can a wheel be diamond cut?
Usually two to three times, depending on the wheel. Each cut removes a thin layer of alloy. We check before we start and tell you honestly if a wheel has reached its limit — in that case a full painted refurbishment is the answer.
Why have my diamond cut wheels gone milky?
Water has got under the clear lacquer through a chip or kerb mark and is oxidising the bare alloy underneath. It spreads, so it is worth fixing early.
Can diamond cut wheels be repaired on the car?
A cosmetic paint touch-up can be done mobile, but it does not restore the machined finish and tends to show. A proper re-cut needs the lathe at the workshop.
Is diamond cutting more expensive than powder coating?
Slightly, because of the lathe work. If you would rather not cut the wheel again, we can powder coat the whole wheel in a matching silver or any colour instead.
