Alloy wheel straightening & buckle repair in Ipswich
A buckled wheel is one of the most common results of a pothole strike — and one of the most overlooked. The signs are a vibration through the steering at motorway speed, a tyre that keeps losing pressure, or uneven tyre wear. Often the damage is on the inner rim where you cannot see it.
We straighten alloy wheels on a hydraulic straightening rig that applies controlled pressure to the exact point of the buckle, then check the wheel for radial and lateral run-out before the tyre goes back on.

AfterThe process
How we do it
- 01
Inspect
Wheel spun on the rig to find the buckle and measure how far out of true it is.
- 02
Straighten
Controlled hydraulic pressure brings the rim back to round without weakening the alloy.
- 03
Verify
Run-out re-measured. If the wheel has cracked, it is welded before anything else.
- 04
Refit
Tyre refitted, balanced, and the wheel goes back on the car.

Wheel straightening: your questions
Can a buckled alloy wheel be repaired?
In most cases yes. Buckles on the rim lip and inner barrel straighten well. Severe damage to the spokes or hub area may not be safe to repair, and we will say so.
Is it safe to drive on a buckled wheel?
Not for long. A buckle stresses the tyre bead, causes uneven wear and can lead to a sudden loss of pressure. Get it checked soon.
How do I know if my wheel is buckled?
A vibration that changes with speed, a slow puncture with no nail in the tyre, or a wheel that will not balance are the classic signs. Bring it in — the check is free.
